What have I learned in this module?

The Design Principles module is a very new course for me, because before I chose The Design School, what I studied was a course that had nothing to do with design, that is coding. Before the degree, the foundation I studied was Foundation in Computing, so for a computing student, design is a difficult module. But in this module, I learned the design principle, which includes a lot of principles, and those principles are useful to me. Of course, in this module, I learned how to create my own design by referencing Other people's designs, through reference, also gave me a lot of inspiration to create.

 

 

What did I enjoy the most?

The thing I enjoy the most is creating my own design, because I am not an art student, and I have never created my own design, so when I successfully make my own design, I feel very fulfilled, Of course, this is also the process I enjoy the most.

 

What did I not enjoy the most?

The thing that I do not enjoy the most is I'm not good at drawing and I can say it is difficult for me because that is not art student, and I have no basics of drawing, so when I know I have to draw by myself, my mood is apprehensive, and all the students have a design foundation, but I am new to painting, so this is a very big challenge for me.

 

What have I learned about myself through this module?

I think what I have learned is to be brave enough to express my own ideas, and not to care about what others think, because everyone has their own ideas, and everyone has their own design methods, so don't be afraid to create your own designs. Of course, we should also accept other people's suggestions, because these suggestions will help us better optimize our design.

 

What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?

The thing that has changed is I learned to express myself, and I also tried to present my own works in lectures, because I have never expressed my thoughts in lectures, but this is the first time I have expressed my thoughts in this module. The thing that has not changed is my drawing foundation is still very poor, and it takes a long time to complete the work. In fact, it is very difficult for me because I have obsessive-compulsive disorder. When I feel that the design is not good-looking, I would want to give up.

 

What could be improved in this module?

For me, this module is very perfect, and with Miss JinChi's patient guidance, I am full of confidence in my design. From being afraid of making mistakes to wanting to hear more advice from the lecturer. I don't think there is anything to improve about this module, it's perfect for me.
