✿ REFLECTION ✿
Experience
When the timetable for this semester was released, I conducted various
research on "Typography," but I had no understanding of it at all. As the
semester began, the pace of the course was fast, and we had to watch all
the recorded lecture videos provided by Mr. Vinod before Task 1 was
completed. We also needed to write down the content of the videos.
Fortunately, Mr. Vinod provided detailed explanations, so I quickly
grasped the concept of Typography. Initially, I felt a lot of pressure in
class because everyone had to present their design process to the
lecturer, and he would provide us with feedback that we needed to record
so that we could improve our designs. However, after a few weeks of
classes, I began to enjoy this approach because I could clearly identify
my mistakes and areas where further improvements could be made.
Consequently, it also enhanced my design skills.
Observation
In my observation, typography plays a crucial role in design. From my
perspective, prioritizing readability is essential, as it ensures that the
chosen fonts and layout styles are easily comprehensible across different
mediums. Font selection becomes a significant aspect as it conveys emotions
and sets the overall tone of the design. By establishing a clear visual
hierarchy, I can guide the viewer's focus and emphasize important
information effectively. Attention to alignment and spacing helps create a
balanced and visually appealing composition. Additionally, considering color
contrast enhances legibility and adds visual interest to the design.
Maintaining consistency in font choices and styles fosters coherence and
professionalism. Lastly, responsiveness is key in the digital age, allowing
typography to adapt seamlessly to various screen sizes and devices. Through
my observation, I have recognized that by paying attention to these
elements, I can create impactful and visually captivating typography
designs.
Findings
In my opinion, the findings highlight the immense importance of
typography in design. I firmly believe that ensuring readability through
careful font selection and thoughtful layout styles is absolutely crucial.
By creating a well-defined visual hierarchy, I can effectively guide the
viewer's attention and emphasize key information. Paying close attention
to proper alignment, spacing, and color contrast significantly enhances
the overall visual appeal of the typography. Consistency in font choices
and styles throughout the design ensures a cohesive and professional look.
Additionally, responsiveness to different screen sizes and devices is
paramount in today's digital world. I strongly believe that typography
provides a wonderful opportunity for creative expression and allows me to
set the desired tone and emotion of the content. By incorporating these
findings into my design practices, I can create typography that not only
communicates effectively but also adds aesthetic value to my
designs.
