✿ LECTURE ✿
Week 1
In the first week of the course, Mr. Shamsul thoroughly briefed us on the
module, offering clear insights and practical examples. His detailed
explanations and real-world illustrations not only clarified theoretical
concepts but also provided a roadmap for upcoming exercises and projects. This
approach, blending theory with application, has boosted our understanding and
confidence as we prepare to dive into the practical aspects of the course.
Overall, Mr. Shamsul's engaging session in week 1 has set a solid foundation
for our journey in the module.
Week 2
During the Week 2 lecture, we were tasked with presenting FLIP 1 in the
online session. After completing the presentation, Mr. Shamsul briefed us
about FLIP 2, which focuses on L.A.T.C.H.

✿ EXERCISES ✿
Exercise 1: Quantify & Visualise Data
Present information in its original form. Arrange objects, noting relevant
indicators with pens for better visualization of quantity and data. Capture a
picture of the final setup and upload it to E-portfolio and Google Classroom.
Having understood the exercise requirements, I've chosen to create an origami
star in various colors for my project.

Exercise 2: L.A.T.C.H.
During the week 2 Tutorial, we were required to create a visual poster that
incorporates the LATCH principles and involves organizing information in a way
that enhances understanding and engagement. LATCH stands for Location,
Alphabet, Time, Category, and Hierarchy. We need to pick four out of the five
of them for our presentation.
We were provided with a selection of three links, presenting us with a range
of options to choose from.
I decided to choose the Pokédex for Exercise 2.
1.0 RESEARCH

Figure 2.2 Type of Pokémon
I discovered that Pokémon inhabit different islands, have various types,
distinct HP values, and more. So, I plan to list out everything.

After I had confirmed my approach, I sketched it out on paper so I could have
a clear direction and list out all the elements I'm going to use for my
exercise 2.

2.0 ILLUSTRATION
Once I had compiled a comprehensive list of all the elements, I proceeded to
employ Adobe Illustrator for the next phase of Exercise 2. To commence, I
created an A4 size artboard to serve as the canvas for my project. Taking a
pivotal step forward, I strategically positioned the map of Melemele Island
right at the center of the artboard, laying the foundation for the subsequent
design elements and enhancing the visual coherence of the project.
Figure 2.6 Process 1
The circle on the artboard symbolizes the Pokémon's evolution, requiring
meticulous editing over a dedicated period. This intentional addition aims to
visually represent the evolutionary process while seamlessly blending into the
overall aesthetic of the artwork.
Figure 2.7 Process 2
I employed three triangles of distinct colors, merging them together to
create a unified design.

After receiving feedback from Mr. Shamsul, I have decided to reposition the
topic to the top of the document and make adjustments to the margins on all
sides—top, bottom, left, and right. This comprehensive modification is
intended to align with Mr. Shamsul's suggestions and improve the overall
layout and visual appeal of the document.

2.0 RE-DESIGNING AN INFOGRAPHIC
In the Week 1 lecture, our task was to prepare a group presentation on
"types of infographics." Additionally, we were required to redesign an
infographic using a free online tool.
First, I searched for a photo-based infographic about Bolognese.
Figure 3.2 Recipe from the Internet
Once I had confirmed the infographic I aimed to redesign, I initiated the
process by sketching out the new design. This preliminary step allowed me
to visually conceptualize the layout, arrangement, and key elements,
laying the foundation for the subsequent phases of the redesign process.

Opting for Canva as my design tool for the redesign, I was drawn to its
extensive library of icons, providing me with a diverse range of options
to choose from. This selection of icons proved instrumental in enhancing
the visual appeal and communicative power of the redesigned infographic.

✿ REFLECTION ✿
In the "Flip Topic" section, we divided into several groups, each comprising
approximately 15 people. This division underscored the significance of
teamwork, as collaboration became paramount in navigating and addressing the
challenges presented within our respective groups. The experience highlighted
the collective effort required to effectively contribute to and benefit from
the discussions and activities within this segment.
