✿ LECTURE ✿
In our final information design project, we formed groups of five and were
presented with four topic options to choose from:
- The History of Video Games
- The Journey of a Product from Factory to Consumer
- The Impact of Social Media on Society
- The Journey of a Plastic Bottle
Each topic offered a unique lens through which to explore and communicate
complex ideas. After deliberation, our group selected one topic to focus on,
aiming to create visually engaging and informative content. Through
collaboration and creativity, we looked forward to delving into our chosen
subject and producing a compelling final project.

After confirming our group members, I took the initiative to establish a
WhatsApp group, ensuring seamless communication among us. Once everyone was
added, we engaged in a lively discussion to determine our project's focus.
Considering each member's interests and expertise, we collectively gravitated
towards exploring the rich narrative of video game history. Recognizing the
topic's vast scope and potential for captivating storytelling, we eagerly
embarked on research and planning. Our decision not only showcased our ability
to collaborate effectively but also ignited our shared enthusiasm to delve
into the fascinating world of video game evolution.
Amidst the plethora of video games available, we collectively agreed to narrow
our focus to the iconic classic: Pac-Man. Recognizing its enduring popularity
and cultural significance, we saw Pac-Man as an ideal subject for our project.
This decision stemmed from our mutual appreciation for its gameplay innovation
and its impact on popular culture since its inception. With Pac-Man as our
chosen topic, we were poised to delve deeply into its history, mechanics, and
cultural influence, eager to craft a compelling narrative that would resonate
with audiences.
Week 1
During the first week of our project, we utilized Canva to create a
PowerPoint presentation focusing on our initial research into video games
and specific details about Pac-Man. With Canva's user-friendly interface and
versatile design tools, we were able to compile key insights and findings
into a visually engaging format. Our PowerPoint provided an overview of the
evolution of video games, highlighting significant milestones and trends.
Additionally, we dedicated a section to Pac-Man, exploring its origins,
gameplay mechanics, and cultural impact. Through this presentation, we laid
the foundation for our deeper exploration into Pac-Man's history and
significance in the world of gaming.

Week 2
During the second week of our project, we honed in on crafting the
narrative, concept, and ideation, dedicating efforts to storyboard creation,
defining the visual style, and selecting an appropriate color scheme.
Collaboratively brainstorming, we formulated a compelling storyline centered
around Pac-Man's origins, gameplay mechanics, and cultural impact.
Simultaneously, we delved into conceptualizing the project's visual
elements, experimenting with typography, graphics, and layout to ensure
cohesiveness. Drawing from Pac-Man's vibrant aesthetic, we settled on a
color scheme that balanced nostalgia with modernity. By week's end, we had
solidified our storyboard, finalized the visual style, and established a
cohesive color palette, setting the stage for the forthcoming design phase.

Week 3
In the third week of our project, we transitioned into the creation phase,
focusing on developing assets and illustrations to bring our narrative to
life. Leveraging our collective skills and creativity, we set out to produce
visually captivating elements that would enhance our storytelling. From
character designs to scene illustrations, we meticulously crafted each asset
to align with our project's visual style and narrative objectives. Using a
combination of digital tools and traditional techniques, we brought Pac-Man
and other iconic elements to life, ensuring they resonated with our audience
and effectively conveyed key concepts. As we immersed ourselves in the
creative process, we remained mindful of maintaining consistency and
coherence across all assets, ensuring they contributed seamlessly to the
overall narrative. By investing time and effort into asset creation, we
aimed to deliver a visually immersive experience that would captivate and
engage our audience.
Week 4
Creating assets, illustrations, and assembling assets into animations were
the focal points of our project in the third week. Leveraging our design
skills and creativity, we aimed to produce various visual elements to enrich
our narrative. From character designs to scene illustrations, we
meticulously crafted each asset to align with the project's visual style and
narrative requirements. Once the assets were ready, we began assembling them
into animations. Through animations, we could present vivid scenes and
smooth storytelling, allowing the audience to gain a deeper understanding of
the message we wanted to convey. Throughout this process, we paid attention
to detail, ensuring that each animated scene seamlessly flowed, creating a
vivid and memorable visual experience.
Week 5
In the process of assembling assets into animations, my fellow group
members took the lead, leveraging their expertise to craft visually
captivating narratives. Meanwhile, I assumed responsibility for enhancing
the auditory dimension of our project. Tasked with providing voice cover
and selecting background music, I dedicated myself to perfecting the audio
elements. For the voice cover, I meticulously scripted and rehearsed
delivery to ensure clarity and emotional resonance. Concurrently, I
curated a selection of background tracks that complemented the project's
themes, aiming to evoke the desired mood. Through collaborative efforts
and attention to detail, we seamlessly integrated visual and auditory
components, creating a captivating and immersive experience for our
audience.

✿ REFLECTION ✿
Reflecting on our information design project, I am proud of our team's collaborative efforts and the journey we undertook from conceptualization to execution. Through open communication and leveraging our diverse skills, we crafted a project that surpassed our initial expectations. This experience underscored the power of iteration and refinement, as we continuously improved our work through feedback and attention to detail. From selecting the topic to presenting the final product, every step taught us valuable lessons in teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. As we move forward, I carry with me a deeper understanding of the impact of information design and a newfound appreciation for the importance of collaboration and meticulous craftsmanship in achieving our goals.
