In week 5, Mr. Shamsul took the time to provide us with a comprehensive
overview of Project 2. The essence of this project revolves around the
animation of the poster we meticulously crafted during Project 1. The
objective is to transform our static visual creation into a dynamic and
engaging 1-minute animated infographic. This transition not only adds a layer
of creativity but also challenges us to delve deeper into the realm of
animation, enhancing our skills and bringing a new dimension to our project
work.

✿ PROJECT 2: ANIMATED INFOGRAPHIC ✿
Within the scope of this project, there is a requirement to employ After
Effects for the animation of the video. This tool, renowned for its
versatility and robust features in the realm of motion graphics and visual
effects, will play a pivotal role in bringing our envisioned animated
infographic to life. By utilizing After Effects, we have the opportunity to
explore a myriad of creative possibilities, seamlessly integrating motion,
transitions, and visual elements to enhance the overall impact of our animated
video presentation.
Requirement:
- Max 60 seconds infographic video 720p
- 1280x720 pixels (H26/mp4)
- Published on YouTube (set to Unlisted)
1.0 RESEARCH
I've been enjoying animated recipe videos on YouTube. They creatively blend
cooking and animation, making the culinary experience both entertaining and
instructive.

2.0 SKETCHES
I recently dedicated time to revisiting and refining the elements designated
for animation in Project 2. Through a process of re-sketching, I sought to
enhance the visual intricacies and fine-tune the details that would play a
crucial role in the animated aspects of the project.

In addition to sketching out the elements for Project 2, I have taken the
organizational step of assigning specific names to each component. This
deliberate naming strategy is aimed at streamlining the importation process
into After Effects. By associating distinct names with individual elements,
I aim to enhance the efficiency of the workflow during the animation phase.
This meticulous approach not only facilitates a seamless transition from the
sketching stage to the digital realm but also contributes to a more
organized and structured project, ultimately ensuring a smoother and more
efficient animation production process.
3.0 DIGITALIZATION
Before delving into the animation process, I took the initiative to
establish a frame with dimensions set at 1280 x 720 pixels.
To maintain visual coherence and a sense of continuity, I began by
incorporating the same color palette utilized in Project 1 into the
initial stages of Project 2. This deliberate choice ensures a consistent
aesthetic across both projects, establishing a visual thread that connects
the animated elements. By employing familiar colors, I not only preserve
the established identity but also create a seamless transition for
viewers, reinforcing the thematic elements from our previous work while
embarking on the dynamic and animated aspects of the current project. This
strategic use of color contributes to a cohesive and harmonious visual
experience throughout the project's evolution.

I utilized keyframes to animate the elements, gradually bringing them to
life with a "popping out" effect. By strategically placing keyframes at
specific points in the timeline, I orchestrated a smooth animation
transition, giving the impression of the elements emerging dynamically.
This technique not only adds a visually engaging quality to the animation
but also allows for precise control over the timing and movement of each
component. The use of keyframes serves as a fundamental tool in achieving
the desired "pop out" effect, contributing to the overall dynamic and
captivating nature of the animated sequence.

For the text elements, I conducted thorough research on YouTube to glean
insights and techniques for creating the desired effects. Leveraging the
knowledge gained from various tutorials and demonstrations, I implemented
specific text animation methods to enhance visual appeal and engagement.
This proactive approach allowed me to integrate innovative and captivating
text effects seamlessly into the overall animation, elevating the project's
quality. The insights gathered from the research on YouTube served as a
valuable resource, empowering me to infuse creativity and dynamic flair into
the textual components of the project.

For other text elements, I also drew inspiration from tutorials on YouTube
to ensure a diverse range of effects during the creative process. I didn't
want to use the "pop-out" effect for all elements, so by learning from
various tutorials on YouTube, I was able to master different text animation
techniques. This comprehensive use of various methods aims to inject a
unique visual experience into the project, creating a more diverse and
engaging animated sequence. By leveraging tutorials on YouTube, I gained a
more comprehensive understanding of potential tricks in text animation,
making the entire project more diverse in terms of creativity and design.

Following these individual steps, I made the decision to consolidate them
into a single frame. This strategic choice aims to present a clear and
comprehensive overview of the entire process, ensuring that the audience can
easily and cohesively grasp each step. By combining all the elements into
one frame, the narrative becomes streamlined, facilitating a more
straightforward understanding of the animated sequence. This approach
enhances the communicative aspect of the project, allowing the audience to
follow the progression of steps seamlessly and absorb the information more
effectively.

In the final section, I made sure to explicitly mention that the inspiration
for this recipe and its animated presentation was drawn from the video
created by "Grannie Pasta." It's essential to give credit where it's due,
and acknowledging the source not only pays homage to the original content
creator but also provides transparency to the audience about the inspiration
behind the project. This acknowledgment serves as a nod to the source of
influence and ensures that the viewers are aware of the specific video that
inspired the culinary and creative journey presented in the project.
Upon completing the video, I went the extra mile by incorporating background
music to enhance the overall auditory experience. The carefully selected
music aims to complement the visual elements, creating a harmonious and
immersive atmosphere for the audience. Additionally, I introduced various
sound effects strategically timed to coincide with specific actions or
transitions within the animation. This meticulous attention to audio details
not only adds another layer of engagement but also contributes to the
overall professionalism and polish of the final video presentation. The
combination of background music and well-tailored sound effects serves to
elevate the sensory appeal of the animated content.

✿ REFLECTION ✿
Creating the animated video for Project 2 was a dynamic journey, where
decisions like maintaining color consistency from Project 1 and exploring
diverse text animation techniques added layers of creativity. The strategic
combination of steps into a single frame emphasized the importance of clear
storytelling. Crediting the original content creator, "Grannie Pasta,"
highlighted collaboration and respect. The final touch of incorporating
background music and sound effects elevated the overall viewing experience,
emphasizing attention to detail. This project provided a rich learning
experience, encompassing design choices, animation techniques, and the role
of audio in visual storytelling, leaving me eager to apply these lessons to
future projects and further refine my multimedia creation skills.
