Throughout this module, I have gained valuable skills and knowledge in sound design and audio editing. Initially, I found it challenging to navigate software like Adobe Audition, but as I progressed through the exercises, I became more proficient in using tools like time-stretching, pitch-shifting, and noise reduction. Each exercise allowed me to experiment with different sound properties and techniques, helping me understand how sound can shape a story and create an immersive experience.
Creating the audio for various projects, such as the Cinderella story and my Final Project, taught me the importance of planning, organization, and attention to detail. The process of recording, editing, and layering sounds was both creative and technical, requiring me to think critically about how to enhance the narrative purely through audio. The challenges I faced, especially with capturing the right sounds and ensuring their quality, were opportunities for growth and improvement.
Overall, this module has broadened my understanding of sound design and its role in storytelling. I feel more confident in my ability to create and manipulate audio, and I now have a deeper appreciation for how sound can transform an experience. It has been a rewarding learning journey, and I look forward to applying these skills in future projects.
