The assignment requires creating a draft dissertation using primary and secondary data to analyze your research problem. The dissertation should include:

Students are expected to present progress and record reflections based on lecturer feedback. The draft should be structured, clear, and demonstrate critical analysis of the research problem.

Week 1 – Revisiting Work & Topic Ideation

Week 2 – Literature Review

• Conducted literature review.

• Researched existing studies and relevant sources.

• Gathered insights to support the research topic.

In Week 2, I focused on the literature review by exploring key areas related to my research topic. I wrote the introduction, examined the evolution of animation techniques, and developed an understanding of hybrid animation. I also researched audience engagement and emotional responses in animation, and analyzed the use of hybrid animation in contemporary cinema. Finally, I identified the research gap and summarized the key findings, laying a strong foundation for the next stages of my dissertation.

Week 3 – Methodology & Observation

• Completed Research Methodology (Chapter 3) of draft dissertation.

• Conducted observations.

• Made corrections and improvements to literature review.

Week 4 – Finalizing Draft Dissertation

• Finalized revisions for research methodology and literature review.

• Prepared the draft for research findings.

Week 5 – Research Findings

During this task, I learned the importance of planning and organizing a research project systematically. Revisiting my previous work helped me identify areas for improvement and guided my topic selection. Conducting the literature review broadened my understanding of animation techniques, hybrid animation, and audience engagement, while highlighting gaps in existing research. Developing the research methodology allowed me to think critically about how to collect and analyze data effectively. Overall, this task strengthened my research skills, improved my analytical thinking, and gave me a clear direction for completing the dissertation.
