✿ TASK 3: RESEARCH FOR ARTICLE PUBLICATION ✿

The final assessment requires adapting your dissertation into a concise paper suitable for publication in The Design School KREATE journal. This task allows you to communicate your research effectively, gain recognition, and link theory with practice.

Requirements:

  • Adapt the dissertation into a concise article following KREATE journal guidelines.

  • Use the KREATE Raw Input template, downloaded from the official site, without editing the preset format.

  • Ensure the correct font and layout are used, as specified in the Manuscript Preparation Guide.

  • Present weekly progress during tutorials.

  • Record reflective learning in the individual tutorial feedback online form based on lecturer feedback.

✿ PROCESS ✿

I adapted my dissertation into a concise article for the KREATE journal. I reviewed my dissertation to extract key findings and insights, downloaded the KREATE Raw Input template, and followed its formatting and font guidelines. I condensed the content into a focused paper, presenting the research problem, methodology, results, and conclusions. I then drafted the article and submitted it for tutorial review to receive feedback from Mr. Asrizal.

After receiving feedback, I revised the Findings and Discussion section based on Mr. Asrizal’s advice, ensuring it focused on discussing the results and answering the research questions rather than starting with statements like “The conclusion of this research…”. I clarified the discussion of results and refined the overall article for clarity and coherence. Once the revisions were completed, I ensured the article adhered to the KREATE template and submitted it by the Week 14 deadline.

REFLECTION ✿

Working on the KREATE article helped me learn how to condense a full dissertation into a concise, publication-ready paper. Adapting the content required me to focus on the most important findings and present them clearly while following strict formatting guidelines. Receiving feedback from Mr. Asrizal was valuable, as it made me realize the importance of structuring the Findings and Discussion section properly—focusing on answering the research questions rather than starting with a conclusion statement. Incorporating his suggestions improved the clarity and coherence of my article, and the process strengthened my skills in academic writing, editing, and presenting research in a professional format.
