✿ TASK 2: CHANNEL BUMPER ✿

1.0 RESEARCH

Before I started Project 2: Channel Bumper, I first researched potential topics to focus on. Initially, I explored various options to determine which product or theme would be the most suitable and engaging for the project.

At first, I wanted to create a channel bumper for a brand, but then I discovered that my senior had done a channel bumper for her favorite idol. Inspired by her work, I decided to create a channel bumper for my favorite K-POP group instead.

Before I started creating the channel bumper, I looked for examples that matched the style and concept I envisioned. This research helped me gather inspiration and understand different approaches to creating an effective and engaging channel bumper. By analyzing these examples, I could identify key elements, transitions, and design techniques that I wanted to incorporate into my own project.

Before I started creating the channel bumper, I gathered all the necessary elements, images, and audio that I planned to use in the digitalization process. This preparation ensured I had all the resources ready to seamlessly integrate into my project, allowing for a more efficient and cohesive design and animation workflow.

2.0 DIGITALIZATION

After gathering all the elements and photos I planned to use, I began sketching out the frames for my channel bumper. This step allowed me to visualize the sequence and layout of the animation, ensuring a coherent flow and alignment with my creative vision. By mapping out each frame, I could effectively plan the transitions, timing, and overall aesthetic of the channel bumper before moving on to the digitalization process.

After completing all the sketches, I added some audio to the video to test and ensure that all the frames worked well together. This step was crucial for synchronizing the visual elements with the soundtrack, helping me refine the timing and transitions to create a cohesive and engaging channel bumper. By integrating audio early in the editing process, I could make necessary adjustments to enhance the overall flow and impact of the final animation.

After ensuring that the frames and audio worked well together, I began using Adobe Illustrator to create all the frames. This involved designing each element with precision and attention to detail, translating my sketches into digital artwork. Illustrator's powerful tools allowed me to craft high-quality graphics, ensuring that each frame was visually appealing and aligned with my original vision. Once the frames were created, they were ready for animation and final touches.

After completing all the frames in Adobe Illustrator, I began using Adobe After Effects to animate them. This step involved importing the frames into After Effects and applying various animation techniques to bring the visuals to life. By adjusting keyframes, transitions, and effects, I created a dynamic and engaging channel bumper. This process allowed me to enhance the movement and timing of each element, ensuring a seamless and polished final animation.

I started by importing each frame into Adobe After Effects one by one to begin the editing process. Using keyframes, I animated the elements, carefully adjusting their positions, scales, and other properties to create smooth and engaging transitions. This step-by-step approach allowed me to fine-tune the motion and ensure that every frame contributed to a cohesive and dynamic channel bumper.

✿ REFLECTION ✿

Reflecting on Project 2, I thoroughly enjoyed the process of creating the channel bumper. Combining my passion for design with my interest in K-POP made the project engaging and fun. From gathering elements to sketching frames and animating them in Adobe After Effects, every step was rewarding. Despite facing challenges, the project provided valuable learning opportunities and honed my skills in motion graphics. The feedback from Mr. Fauzi and peers was invaluable in refining the final product. Overall, Project 2 was a fulfilling experience that showcased my abilities and fueled my passion for motion graphics.
