✿ PROJECT 1: HARD-SURFACE 3D MODELLING ✿

For Project 1: Hard Surface Modeling, I need to choose a hard surface object from one of the following categories: Vehicle, Weapon, Robot, or Machine. I will start by searching for reference images or blueprints for the object I select. Then, I'll model the object using the polygon tools and techniques I've learned. After modeling, I will apply the right materials and textures to give it its appearance. Finally, I will set up the lighting and render the model using either the ‘Eevee’ or ‘Cycles’ rendering engine to achieve the final look.

1.0 RESEARCH

I have started researching and searching for references for Project 1: Hard Surface Modeling to guide me through the modeling process.

Figure 2.1 Reference from Internet

I have chosen this as my reference for Project 1: Hard Surface Modeling. By using this reference, I aim to guide myself through the modeling process, ensuring that I capture the correct proportions, details, and overall design of the object. This reference will help me stay focused on achieving an accurate and realistic model.

2.0 DIGITALIZATION

After I gathered the reference, I started modeling the object based on the images and blueprints. Using the reference as a guide, I focused on accurately shaping the object and incorporating the necessary details. This step-by-step approach allowed me to stay on track and ensure that my model closely matches the reference.

"After I finished modeling the object, I began the rendering process. I set up the lighting and adjusted the materials and textures to give the model a more realistic appearance. Once everything was in place, I rendered the final image, making sure to choose the appropriate settings for the best result."

After completing the initial render, I placed the weapon above a cube to create a more dynamic and visually interesting composition. I then adjusted the scene and lighting before rendering the final image, which now showcases the weapon in a complete and polished form.

✿ REFLECTION ✿

Project 1: Hard Surface Modeling was a valuable learning experience. It challenged me to choose an object and break it down into manageable parts using polygon tools and techniques. The process of researching reference images helped me understand the proportions and details, which guided my modeling. Applying materials and textures to the model brought it to life, and adjusting the lighting for the final render was an important step in presenting the object realistically. Overall, the project helped me improve my modeling and rendering skills, and I feel more confident in creating hard surface models for future projects.
